The Project

The brief was to come up with a campaign that would recognise The Harvey Centre’s 35th birthday with the objective of increasing community engagement. We came up with the idea of creating a time capsule that would reflect on the past 35 years and would be opened in 2052.

The Challenge

To put The Harvey Centre at the heart of the community, we reached out to local schools, the council, charities and groups to encourage their involvement. We filmed local community members talking about the past, present and future of Harlow. This created three short videos for social media, to help promote the event. We collected data from 77 school children to produce an Infographic on what they wanted to be when they grow up, and created a whole series of blog content on Harlow. Then for the actual time capsule, we wanted it to align with Harlow’s status as an art and sculpture town, so we commissioned a local artist to design and make the time capsule, which is currently on exhibit in The Harvey Centre.

The Outcome

The campaign was a success and was a factor in the client winning the Community Engagement Award at the Harlow Town Centre Awards.
